On the Havana Sunset Bike Tour you will get to see the municipalities of Vedado, the Center and the Old Quarter. You will also get the chance to visit two important squares: the Main square (first colonial square named Plaza de Armas) and the Cathedral square. In addition, you will experience “El Fanguito” neighborhood, located within the Vedado district. “El Fanguito” is a citadel-like settlement built at the edge of the Almendares River. It’s a nice contrast with the rest of the elegant Vedado district, giving you a picture of the “real Cuba.”
From here, you will head to Revolution Square, crossing the architectural-award-winning residential neighborhood of New Vedado, which provides for an interesting contrast to the imported aesthetic of buildings from the ex-Soviet Union. You will then head to the Old Town to explore the San Isidro Quarter, making a stop at the remains of the Wall that protected the city 2.5 centuries ago. Furthermore, in San Isidro you will get a glimpse at some of the colorful graffiti and stop at a local park to hear about important personalities and the Cuban life.
Now it’s time to go to Harbor Avenue and ride up to the Main square. On the way, you will also stop at the floating wharf. Then you will have a choice between the Capitol building and its surroundings or if the Cathedral square. From the Malecon you will return to meeting point, stopping at a juice bar on the way.
