The guide will take you on an adventure through this amazing city. This bike tour shows the lesser-known side of the Chiang Mai. You cycle along quiet green country roads, past the historic settlement of Wiang Kum Km. You’ll see temples and ruins from hundreds of years ago here. You will visit a local temple and the guide will tell you more about Buddhism. We continue along the route past a local market, here there is an opportunity to taste the tastiest exotic fruits and other local snacks.
Then it’s time to cycle along the Ping River where you will breathe the local atmosphere that makes the city so special. We pass some beautiful rice fields and fruit orchards before stopping for a tasty snack or fresh exotic fruits at a local market. During the Chiang Mai Bicycle Tour, we will stop at a local restaurant for about an hour to recover and enjoy a Thai lunch. You will have a typical Thai dish from this region, Khao Soy Kai!
The last part of the tour we cycle through the historic settlement of Wiang Kum Kam, founded in 1286 by King Mengrai. It was the capital of the Lanna empire for only 10 years. We see temples and ruins that are hundreds of years old. After visiting and photographing these ancient ruins, we cycle back to the starting point.
The route may sometimes be different as the rice fields and fruit orchards are not in bloom all year round.
